"This conference really impacted me. I woke up a different person today. I asked Mary and my guardian angel for support and felt their constant, loving pulling me back into my prayers. What a blessing!"
— C.R., conference participant
“
I was in a very rough place — a place of deep hopelessness. Then your conference came up. This has helped me tremendously. I have concrete plans for moving forward. I have much more hope than when I first began.
— C.I., conference participant
“
Having a group of men committed to the same discipline has been a missing piece in building this habit. I am much more mindful of how I'm building my daily prayer.
— C.G., SOCA Participant

The Assumption Ball is a formal dance on Saturday evening of the conference — August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. Elegant attire required. Think formal gowns and suits. It is a real ball — not a social mixer or a dance party. It is one of the most distinctive elements of the Altum conference experience.
No. The Ball includes instruction and the atmosphere is welcoming to everyone regardless of dancing experience. The point is the experience — beautiful music, elegant setting, serious Catholics having a genuinely good time together.
No. The conference is designed for serious young Catholics at every stage — those with a strong interior life and those who are just beginning to build one. The only requirement is that you want to go deeper.
Tickets are refundable within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days tickets are non-refundable but transferable — you can give your ticket to someone else if your plans change. If there are any major changes on our end we will offer refunds for those that need it.

Mental Prayer

“
The devil knows he has lost a soul who perseveringly practices mental prayer... He who neglects mental prayer needs not a devil to carry him to hell, but he brings himself there with his own hands.
-ST. TERESA OF ÁVILA

“
In mental prayer, the soul is purified from its sins, nourished with charity, confirmed in faith, and strengthened in hope; temptation is conquered, sadness dispelled; drooping powers revive... inflamed with the fire of divine love.
-ST. peter of alcantara

“
Mental prayer is morally necessary for salvation... All saints became such through mental prayer.
-ST. alphonsus ligouri
Altum Young Adults is a program of SOCA, Souls of the Christian Apostolate, founded in August 2018 in Denver, Colorado. The name references Duc in Altum, the words of Christ to his disciples: launch into the deep. In eight years SOCA has helped introduce tens of thousands of people to mental prayer and has endorsements from over 7 bishops. Altum is the young adult expression of that mission, bringing serious spiritual formation, real community, and outreach to new souls together in one place.
