Is this a good place to meet someone?

Many who come are hoping to meet someone who shares their faith. The weekend isn't built as a dating event, but it's exactly the kind of room where real relationships organically start. In the past, many have started relationships from the community the conference cultivated.

What do you recommend for travel and lodging?

We recommend getting a hotel downtown near the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Who is giving the talks?

Kevin Roerty, founder of Souls of the Christian Apostolate (the interior life and mental prayer); Peter Sturr, founder of the In Ipso apostolate (prayer as the foundation of a holy marriage); Fr. Joseph Loftus, FSSP (discernment of spirits for major life decisions); and Fr. Nick Larkin, pastor of Assumption Parish, who leads Benediction Saturday and celebrates Sunday Mass.

Is there a priest involved?

We are blessed with the support of Fr. Nick Larkin, pastor of Assumption Parish, who will be offering Mass and hosting us at his parish for the talks.

Is Mass in Latin?

We honor to both reverent Novus Ordo Masses as well as the 1962 Latin Mass. The hike Mass will be in Latin, TBD which form. That said, all are welcome even if unfamiliar with Mass in Latin!

Do I need to be "advanced" at prayer?

Definitely not! All that's required is a desire to go deeper.

Do I have to be Catholic?

This conference is for those interested in learning about Catholic spirituality. If you are interested in learning about the Catholic faith, you are certainly welcome!

How many attendees do you anticipate? Where are they from?

Previous conferences have had between 100-200+ attendees. Over one hundred signed as of August 1, with another hundred expressing interest. The majority travel from out-of-state.

What is the ball? Do I have to know how to dance?

The ball is a social mixer. We expect many to be brand new to dancing and will have a lesson. It will be a mix of ballroom-style contra dancing and swing dancing.

How hard is the hike?

We've picked a scenic but non-strenuous hike. We still recommend plenty of water especiallly for those unaccustomed to the altitude.

Can I come for just some of it?

Yes! That is up to you.

How are the ticket prices so low?

Altum is blessed with volunteers and donors we are grateful to for making this possible! The final price will be $200, with sales between now and then.

Hotel Recommendation?

We recommend the Warwick Denver or Hilton Denver because of their centrality and proximity to the ball on Saturday night.

FAQs

What is included in the ticket price?

Your ticket covers all conference programming — formation talks, the Assumption Ball on Saturday evening, and Sunday hike. The Sunday hike is included.

Where exactly is the conference?

Denver, Colorado. Exact venue details will be announced once we confirm the final location — which depends on registration numbers. We will keep all registered attendees updated directly.

What is the Assumption Ball?

The Assumption Ball is a formal dance on Saturday evening of the conference — August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. Elegant attire required. Think formal gowns and suits. It is a real ball — not a social mixer or a dance party. It is one of the most distinctive elements of the Altum conference experience.

Do I need to know how to dance?

No. The Ball includes instruction and the atmosphere is welcoming to everyone regardless of dancing experience. The point is the experience — beautiful music, elegant setting, serious Catholics having a genuinely good time together.

Is this only for people who already have a strong prayer life?

No. The conference is designed for serious young Catholics at every stage — those with a strong interior life and those who are just beginning to build one. The only requirement is that you want to go deeper.

What is the refund policy?

Tickets are refundable within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days tickets are non-refundable but transferable — you can give your ticket to someone else if your plans change. If there are any major changes on our end we will offer refunds for those that need it.

Can I use the referral program?

Yes. Every ticket buyer receives a personal referral link and code after purchase. When one friend buys through your link or uses your code they get a discount off their ticket and you get a certain amount of your ticket back — effectively making your ticket free. The amount of both is subject to change as spots fill up.

What is the schedule?

Friday: Welcome Talk and Social

Saturday Daytime: Talks, Prayer, & Discussion About Interior Prayer

Saturday Night: The Assumption Ball

Sunday: Hike in the Colorado Rockies
